ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø

Kate Baumgartner '11 (she/her) is the Assistant Technical Director for mainstage productions, performance venues, and support facilities housed in the Department of Theatre, Dance, and Performance Studies. She collaborates with staff, faculty, and guest artists to provide hands-on learning opportunities for students in a multitude of backstage and production areas. During and after her time studying at ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø, Kate worked for the Colorado Shakespeare Festival as a head carpenter and the ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø Area Arts Council as a program and facility coordinator. Kate returned to ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø as the Assistant Technical Director in 2016. She has also served as technical director and scenic designer for dozens of ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø Community Theatre and ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø High School productions, as well as tech challenge coordinator for the Iowa Thespian Chapter of the EdTA. She serves on the ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø Area Arts Council Board of Directors and is pursuing an MFA in technical production through the University of Idaho.

Kate is a self-described bookwyrm, partner, dog mom, interdisciplinary maker, gamer, doting aunt, adventurer, hobby photographer, cyclist, good troublemaker, prairie walker, and aspiring hygge maven.
