The CTL sponsors Community Friday luncheon learning opportunities during the fall and spring semesters. These events are designed to give faculty and staff the chance to enjoy lunch with colleagues, learn from presenters, and engage in conversation and reflection. Topics for discussion will focus on pedagogy, teaching and learning, faculty development, and student success. Announcements are sent out on a weekly basis with a request for RSVPs and lunch options.
Unless otherwise noted, Community Fridays take place from noon to 1 p.m. in Humanities and Social Studies Center, Room A1231, with lunch service beginning at 11:45 a.m.
Fall 2026 Community Friday Schedule
Please join us on Aug. 28 to learn more about the many offices and departments across campus who work to support teaching and learning at the college. Representatives from these offices will be available for conversation at tables in the HSSC atrium.
The lunch buffet will open at 11:45 a.m. in the HSSC multipurpose room, A1231.
Please join us at the next Community Friday on Sept. 4th for a conversation with facilitators Kayla Reed, Gina Schlesselman-Tarango, Chelsea Soderblom, and Liz Queathem. Libraries may not be the first places that come to mind when thinking of sustainable initiatives. But not only has the American Library Association adopted sustainability as a core value, many libraries across the country are also taking action to better serve their communities. Ƶ Libraries are no exception, and we are excited to share that we are pursuing a certificate from the Sustainable Libraries Initiative this year. What does that mean? Learn what the libraries are doing to renew our commitment to sustainability and share your thoughts on the sustainable actions you want to see at Ƶ and in the libraries.
Early arrival is encouraged for the lunch buffet that will open at 11:45 a.m. Thank you for using reusable flatware to cut down on plastic waste. The fall Community Friday schedule is available on the CTL website at Community Fridays - Center for Teaching and Learning.
